The May race was a double points event.

The next races are a double event weekend in June. Volunteers and organizers are being arranged to assist MMSC in organizing this event.

Running lappers in between races at the race days worked out well with better use of the track and better income for the race weekend.

The second regional rally event took place this past Sunday with the BAC Bluenose rally. 14 teams entered. Ian Pearce and Maria Driscoll tied with Daphne Sleigh and Brian Jarvis tied for first with 0 points in Experienced. Bruce Beveridge and Cindy MacCarron finshed first Novice.

The third regional rally will be a BAC event organized by Perry Falconer and Sherrie Hennigar on July 9th starting at Steele Subaru in Dartmouth and ending at Marcus and Willys restaurant in Head of Jeddore.

The first RallySprint of the season will be held July 24th, volunteers are always welcome as we need a lot of help to run the event. Volunteering is the best spectating available.

Solo Report

2 events have been held so far, both at the Truro Power Centre. The first event was completed with one lot and the second used both lots available. Both were well attended. The timing computer glitches were overcome and the events took place without a hitch.

Event #1 FTD was Brian Partridge in Joel Nelson’s Civic, Event #2 FTD was tied for FTD between Joel Nelson in his Civic and Craig English in a 2005 Porsche 911, Joel won the tiebreaker having the second fastest time.

The local Truro paper featured some excellent articles concerning the first event including some video for the paper’s website.

The next ASCC slalom is this Sunday at Scotia Speed World. Taylor MacArthur won’t be able to make the event and Jason may be unavailable as well.

The ASCC double regional event will be held July 1st weekend in Digby. Brian brought up a concern about the arrangement of TShirts included in the event registration which was not planned for. The concern mentioned was that we’re running slalom events on a break even basis when the club has diminishing revenues in other areas.

ARMS Region Report

Dave Hull, the ARMS president was present and provided an ARMS report. An announcement will be made in the July SCCA Fastrack, published June 20th, regarding the acceptance of ARMS Race Licenses by the SCCA”

Other regional series’ such as rally are continuing well. There will be one regional Karting event this year, a 2 day event in Dieppe in July. Karting clubs in the region are working hard to regain a regional presence among a number of clubs, all of which are having difficulties.

New Business

Debbie Miller, Jason Smith and Umberto LoPresti have been investigating having new ASCC shield decals made up. The artwork has been sourced from Brian Jarvis. Umberto got in touch with the printer who did the last batch and it was indicated that a minimum order of 500 decals would cost $750-1000. An artwork change to make the flag more correct would only be $30. Sherrie Hennigar offered to check with her printing suppliers for a competitive price. Extensive discussions concerning the design of these decals took place.
