The minutes of last months meeting were not read because it was the 2010 AGM. A brief summary was provided.

Presidents Report

No formal President’s report was provided.

Brian provided a digital copy of a 1963 ASCC Slalom filmed by his father. This video is available online and will be provided to the Maritime Motorsport Hall of Fame. Additionally he has a copy of video from the Highland Rally which will also be posted online.

Membership Report

Jason was not present.
Per last week’s Executive Meeting, Jason indicates there are approximately 30 members registered with several more to be processed.

Treasurer Report

$14413.59 in the bank with $11495.61 remaining after outstanding cheques. $2800 in cheques has still not cleared for AMP. Several other small expenses will be covered at tonight’s meeting including a $199.50 bill to KwikCopy for expenses relating to the 2010 ARMS AGM. Additionally a cheque is due for 63 cones purchased from MMSC which Pidge picked up last week.

Race Report

Debbie has posted the race minutes for the last race workshop on the ARMS site.

The AMP AGM still doesn’t have a formal date, though late February is likely.

A John Davies has indicated on the ARMS forum that he was interested in building a race car but has received very little information on how to proceed. James Partridge has agreed to get in touch with him and make sure he has all the information he requires.

Debbie and Pidge discussed the schedule for the ASCC Drivers/Racers school in May.

It has been discussed that there will be no scheduled Formula car races for 2011. Due to attrition of cars only Bill Anwyll and Jason Smith have cars ready to race and both have indicated they aren’t interested in conducting races with only two cars. The possibility of scheduling races through the season will be evaluated prior to each event.

Ian Pearce brought up for discussion his observation that it appears that numbers of new racers have decreased since the Race School and High Performance Driving School were made two separate events, meaning that those who took the High Performance Driving School cannot move on to race without taking the race school.

Rally Report

Ian Pearce provided a report on his upcoming ASCC Regional rally which will be held January 29th. Called the Rally of the Supposed Snow it will begin and end in Elmsdale Nova Scotia and run into the evening. Tim Dine is helping Ian and Maria with organization under the rules allowing a novice navigator to score points against the championship. His assistance is greatly appreciated.

Fredericton Motorsport Club is holding a club level rally on January 22nd.

BAC’s RallyCross series continues with the next event taking place January 16th at Scotia Speed World.

The CARS AGM takes place this weekend in Toronto. Regional Representative Clarke Paynter is attending, holding the proxies of all the clubs in the region. Ron MacKenzie is also attending at the request of CARS to work towards the growth of performance rallying in our region.

Solo Report

Neither Jason Smith or Taylor MacArthur were present, no Solo Report was presented.

The Solo organizers are looking at holding a larger social event at the Digby Double weekend along the lines of Slemon.

Brian Jarvis has indicated that he would like Alan Gray to take on a role of auditing event financials for each Solo event. Alan has an accounting background. This will help make the financials clearer and Brian’s life easier. Alan agreed to perform this role at all the Solo events which he attends.

New Business

The executive has discussed having some new club clothing made. High quality stitching on performance clothing will be investigated. Brian Jarvis will discussed with Say It With Stitches who already have the ASCC pattern on file.

The ASCC Website is currently shut down. Jason and Gordon are looking at producing a simple site but any assistance in creating a website would be greatly appreciated.

Meeting adjourned at: 8:35pm
