The high performance driving school organized by Shawn L was another success and brought out many new lappers and time attack drivers. Zack M, Scott M and Joel N worked hard on all of our solo events. And many of our members also supported other events by competing and working. The National solo event in Sanair, Quebec saw ASCC drivers Steve, Joel N, Trevor G, and Alan G attend and represented us well, congrats to them.

We hit 210 for membership this year so the numbers have been steady. Thanks to all our executive for keeping the events and meetings well organized: VP Alan G, Secretary Krista N, Treasurer Brian J Director at large Chris W and the discipline directors Ian P, Zack M, Shawn L, Joel N and Gord S continues as our website guru. We have a great team!

We regret to report that we lost a long time club member, Walter Tennant passed away just weeks before the AMP 50th anniversary. I was sorry that he missed celebrating with us, he did so much for ASCC and AMP! Over 45 new licenses were issued this season

Lapping was very successful in conjunction with trac series racing with great showings at each race day. We look forward to working with them again for lapping in the upcoming season.

Time attack,
There were several time attacks held this season with several cars out to beat the clock and get their best time.

New for 2025 as voted in by the ARMS clubs there will be a price increase for licenses including race, lapping and time attack. Lapping increases by 20 a season and time attack increases by 30. With the increase going directly to AMP

Due to the increased rental costs of AMP and its associated services we made the decision to increase the price of our HPDS. The cost moving forward is an extra $50 bringing the cost to $350. Your lapping licence fee is still included in the cost of the school. If a student is deemed competent and wants a time attack license they are responsible for the extra 40 to obtain that license.

The HPDS will once again be held on may over the long weekend. Volunteers always welcome

ASCC will also be hosting a combined slalom and lapping weekend in August 2025.

Come out and spend a weekend at the track. Camping is free so bring a tent or trailer and enjoy the atmosphere at the track with friends.

Rally Report
This year represented a bit of a milestone in Performance Rally. 15 years after Ron Mckenzie put us back on the map with a Rallysprint, we ran a Regional Series, with slightly increased entries, 3 region counting events, and 2 new cars being brought to the Region

Navigational Rallying continues to struggle somewhat with organizers. Events that did run were well organized and well attended. This year represented the first major rewrite of the Navex rule set in many decades. Designed to allow use of newer technology, and update rules to reflect where technology and society is now, it incorporates a number of updates, but without mandating change on classic rally types. A newly formed advisory group aims to create a steady base of resources to allow sustainable rebuilding.

Rallycross continues along, but in Club form with BAC continuing it’s good work in this area. An agreement at the AGM will allow us to enact a Regional Championship with short notice for 2025.

As with Solo, access to lots is an issue.

Again this year Rallye Baie de Chaleur will be counted on our regional calendar for the Championship. The region has also elected to rejoin the Eastern Canadian Rally Championship. This is in response to conversations with out of province competitors, and a desire to expand our reach.

We look forward to a good year upcoming, and encourage all of the dozen plus garaged cars to come join the fun.

January 25 is the first regional Navex of the year, organized by ASCC. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

-Ian Pearce

Race Report

2024 was another successful year for ARMS Race Thanks to the new ARMS Race director Nate Parren, the Race committee and the sponsorship committee. We had 11 drivers take a race school over the 2024 season. 4 regular race weekends where held, allowing so rain racing to take place during the 1 hours of the first 2 events. Feilds where consistent over the year but we had a few drivers missing out over the season. 1 driver, Ryan Burrill who has been working as a Track doctor for many different events over the season. Helping out CSBK, F1 and Targa Newfoundland. We held a 50th anniversary event for AMP in September. It was a very well attended event from the Race/Lapping and Time attack side but was amazing to see so many people attending the event, old racers, families and friends making it out for the weekend. Ending the year was the annual JCM and it was a wet one. Starting the event with a DRY super pole Qualifying setup, but that was the end of the dry track. Just 20 minutes before the 3 hour race it started raining and it never stopped. Ending the race with a few banged up cars, lots of laughs and a lot of people looking for dry cloths.

2025 is shaping up for another great year. Super Production challenge has been in communications with us for most of the 2024 season and have committed to coming in June of 2025 with all 3 of their classes as a qualifying weekend for the GP3R. Bringing along the Nissan Sentra Cup and the Quebec Vintage series. TRAC series will run our 2nd round with them as a support series and expect to see some extra cars coming down from Quebec/Ontario to run with us over that weekend.

Looking forward to the 2025 season, Joel Nelson

Old Business
ARMS had their AGM in November – no major changes this year.
